Become a Subscriber

The Richmond Forum is a subscription series. When you become a Forum subscriber, you gain access to all five programs of the season in one convenient package.

All new subscribers start with a flexible online subscription or a Simulcast subscription, pending availability. Both types grant you access to our subscriber-exclusive Ticket Marketplace, which allows you to upgrade to open seats in the theater on a program-by-program basis. After you enjoy your first season, you can request to move into the theater and experience the entire season from your dedicated seats.

Read on to learn more about each subscription type.

Theater Subscriptions

Since 1987, subscribers from across the region have come together in the 3,600-seat Altria Theater to experience The Richmond Forum. Learn more about what to expect from a night at The Forum.

Theater seats are sold out for the season. To get in line for these seats, purchase an online subscription and indicate that you are interested in moving into the theater.

Contact Michael Brown, Director of Subscriber Services and Operations, if you have questions about your existing subscription or becoming a subscriber.

Simulcast Room Subscriptions

Perennially sold out since 2012, the Simulcast Room is located in the Altria Theater’s beautifully restored ballroom. You’ll join our in-person Forum community, watching each program on four giant HD screens in a relaxed, comfortable environment. With general admission seating, it is easy to meet up and sit with friends or mingle to make new ones.

Simulcast Room subscribers are able to upgrade to available seats in the theater for any program. Plus, you will be first in line for available subscription seats in the theater for the next season.

Simulcast subscriptions for the 2024 – 2025 season are on sale now.

Online Subscriptions

Tune in to five engaging conversations with the most powerful voices of today, all from the comfort of your living room. An online subscription to The Richmond Forum allows you to stream programs from anywhere you are, either live or within 30 days after the event. Online subscriptions for the 2024 – 2025 season are on sale now.

If you are interested in attending Forum programs in person, an online subscription will be your ticket into the theater. You will be able to upgrade to theater seats on a program-by-program basis and will be first in line for future theater subscriptions. The Forum no longer has a lottery or waitlist.

FAQs

How can I attend the upcoming season?

New subscribers start out by purchasing a flexible online subscription or Simulcast Room subscription, which gives you access to all programs of the season with the option to upgrade to available seats in the theater on a program-by-program basis.

How do I get a theater subscription?

When you become an online or Simulcast Room subscriber, you are essentially putting yourself on a “waitlist.” If a theater subscriber chooses not to renew their subscription for the upcoming season, their seats are made available to Simulcast Room and online subscribers who would like to move into the theater.

Can I buy a ticket to just one program?

We do not sell tickets to individual programs. The Richmond Forum is designed to be experienced as a season of five programs. With input from our subscribers, we carefully select speakers whose stories and perspectives will ignite curiosity and open our minds to new and challenging ideas. By intentionally packaging our programs as a subscription, we can introduce our audience members to voices and viewpoints they might not have sought out on their own, with the goal of sparking broader conversations in our community.
