Become a Member

The Richmond Forum is a subscription series. When you become a Forum member, you gain access to all five programs of the season in one convenient package.

All membership types grant you access to our member-exclusive Ticket Marketplace, which allows you to upgrade your experience on a program-by-program basis.

Theater Memberships

Since 1987, members from across the region have come together in the 3,600-seat Altria Theater to experience The Richmond Forum. Learn more about what to expect from a night at The Forum.

Currently, there are a select number of seats available in the rear balcony section of the theater.

Contact Michael Brown, Director of Member Services and Operations, if you have questions about your existing membership or becoming a member.

Simulcast Room Memberships

The Simulcast Room is located in the Altria Theater’s beautifully restored ballroom. You’ll join our in-person Forum community, watching each program on four giant HD screens in a relaxed, comfortable environment. With general admission seating, it is easy to meet up and sit with friends or mingle to make new ones.

Simulcast Room members can upgrade to available seats in the theater for any program. Plus, you will be first in line for available membership seats in the theater for the next season.

Online Memberships

Tune in to five engaging conversations with the most powerful voices of today, all from the comfort of your living room. An online membership to The Richmond Forum allows you to stream programs from anywhere you are, either live or within 30 days after the event.

If you are interested in attending Forum programs in person, an online membership will be your ticket into the theater. You will be able to upgrade to theater seats on a program-by-program basis and will be first in line for future theater memberships. The Forum no longer has a lottery or waitlist.

FAQs

How can I attend the upcoming season?

New subscribers typically start by purchasing a flexible online membership or Simulcast Room membership, which gives them access to all programs of the season with the option to upgrade to available seats in the theater on a program-by-program basis. However, a select number of seats are currently available in the rear balcony section of the theater. If you are interested in a theater membership, act quickly!

How do I get a theater Membership?

When you become an online or Simulcast Room member, you are essentially putting yourself on a “waitlist.” If a theater member chooses not to renew their subscription for the upcoming season, their seats are made available to Simulcast Room and online members who would like to move into the theater. However, a select number of seats are currently available in the rear balcony section of the theater. If you are interested in a theater membership, act quickly!

Can I buy a ticket to just one program?

We do not sell tickets to individual programs that are part of our main season. The Richmond Forum is designed to be experienced as a season of five programs. With input from our members, we carefully select speakers whose stories and perspectives will ignite curiosity and open our minds to new and challenging ideas. By intentionally packaging our programs as a subscription, we can introduce our audience members to voices and viewpoints they might not have sought out on their own, with the goal of sparking broader conversations in our community.
