Volunteer as a tournament Judge

Finding an adequate number of experienced judges can be a challenge for both speech and debate teams and tournament hosts. The Initiative has a volunteer judges bank that recruits Richmond Forum subscribers, college students, and community members to support local teams.

Interested community members can get involved in the Initiative and support local teams by volunteering as a judge for local competitions.

Each volunteer judge is required to submit to a criminal background check and receive training via the NSDA/NFHS online judges’ course. Volunteer judges are always needed.

“Volunteering with RFSDI is a way to give back to the activity that gave me so much opportunity and growth as a student.”

Brett Feinstein, Volunteer Judge
